THE ELEVATOR

SCROLL TO READ

The Elevator is a short simulation narrative made entirely in Unity, about the irrational fear I experienced on a trip to Greece when I was 8 years old. The experience took some time to get over and so is a lasting memory of mine. That is why I chose to simulate it in Unity for my Virtual Environments Specialisation class.

In this short story you play as me, and what you experience is a dramatic recreation of what I felt.
In this project, I harnessed a combination of color, sound, animation, scripting, and lighting to bring my short story to life.

Using colour lighting and ambient sound, I created an eerie atmosphere for this environment. To bring the space to life I also added a swinging light animation, and swinging doors to show the player early that something is wrong, this is not your average elevator.
Using C# scripts I implemented interaction to the elevator button and also a click event that would begin the next sequence of this environment. Once inside the elevator, I convince the player that horrifying events are happening by utilizing camera and lighting animations and sounds.
I hope you enjoy this experience!
